I have this multicolored icon that pops up for only a few seconds then disappears, all the time. I believe it says "beacon scanning" or something but I'm not sure. Is it Spyware or something bad? I've never seen it before and have searched the whole web to no avail. Attached below is a picture of the icon. Thanks for any help or info

Strange Notification Icon?

Hi gcant35. Welcome to Android Forums. I'm not familiar with your icon but just at a glance looks video related in some fashion. Do you remember installing an app prior to seeing this pop up?
If it's appearing on the left side, it's most likely an app generating that icon/notification. From what I can find, the "beacon scanning" is part of a Bluetooth technology that is looking for low power transmitters to gather information about their location( not yours) and notify you if something you have indicated you are interested in is in range. Do you have an shopping apps, or one of those key fob things that help you locate lost keys? They would be the kind of apps to use that technology.
