Help Strange SMS issue

This is a bit of an odd one.

I'm running Viper 2.7.0 on my HOX and have been for quite some time.

I recently got a Nexus 7 and thought it would be good to be able to see / reply to text messages on the tablet, so I installed MightyText.

A couple of days later I found out that I wasn't receiving certain texts from my girlfriend, with no apparent rhyme or reason to explain it. I assumed it was MightyText that was causing the issue, so I uninstalled it. Not before noticing that the ones that hadn't come through on my phone were showing on MightyText.

The trouble is, I'm still sporadically not getting messages from her (and I have no idea if it's affected anyone else's messages, or for how long it's actually been happening).

Does anybody have any ideas? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

By the way I have not done a hard reset or anything like that. Yet!

Edit: Also, I use SMS Backup+ and having just checked that the missing messages are not there. I also use Handcent and tried updating that as some googling said that could be the issue, but no luck. Also have installed Go SMS but they aren't there either. I can't figure out if there is even a stock messaging app with Viper, but it's just ocurred to me that I do have quite a lot of messages stored on there - is there a maximum limit or something?

The way I understand 3rd Party SMS apps to work is that they're just an overlay for the stock app so if you open the stock SMS app and the messages aren't there, that will rule out an issue with the 3rd Party apps.

Also, any limit which applies to the stock app rolls on to 3rd Party apps too so check and make sure there isn't something like "limit conversation to XXX messages" or Text message limit isn't checked.

Maybe there's an issue with your network?
