Help Strange Texts

I keep getting texts from 'CB' with the 0121 in it and nothing more with the symbol of a radio mast - what the hell is it and how do I stop it? Vodaphone do not have a clue? :mad:

Its OK - I found this:

Go to your messaging, press the menu button to bring up the options, click on settings, then scroll/slide down about 2/3 of the page of the different options and you'll see an option for receiving CB messages. It's Cell Broadcasting messages - basically for testing purposes. Make sure the check mark is off. If the check mark is on, you'll receive Cell Broadcasts.

Strange thing is, I never checked it in the first place.

sounds like a device that has been serviced, maybe vodaphone pulled a fast one and gave you a return as new?

maplins tried that with me the fools, got a device with a google account already logged on and no protective packaging...nah ill take a new one thanks lmao
 
No, I think mine was new, it was not something I was getting at first, only the past couple of months. Maybe an upgrade switched it on? I have Kaspersky in my phone so it wasn't a trojan or whatever.
