Streaking across Australia

I've been following Android for a while but never really delved deeper into the community until I found a phone I could use, well now I've found one. So, here I am with a question. Would it be possible to buy the Streak unlocked from the US and then couple it with an Oz phone provider? Using ALL of the Streak features. I don't want a phone that only half works. ^^

Unlocked will be the only way to get it in the US. If you can't get it from the Dell website, you can certainly get it from eBay for a premium. I am pretty sure that it uses the AT&T 3g bands, so if Oz uses those and is GSM then it should work.
