Stream music to smart tv

Can I stream music to my smart TV from my phone so that it will act like a Bluetooth or wireless speaker?

What does a Chromecast do exactly? I'm learning more and more every day, but I'm still a newbie with most of this stuff!

A chromecast is a little dongle thingy* that plugs into the HDMI socket of your TV.. and gives it some smart features... you can then use your phone to get it to play things on your TV... Rather than relying on Samsung to update the software in their tv.. i can use my phone as a remote control and the chromecast provides the smarts to get the stuff on the tv

Check out Plex, it is a great file sharing app you can install on your computer and streams films, music and photos off your computer
