Streaming FLACs and other streaming Q's

I am fairly new to android, but not new to Linux or computers.

I have a server that holds all of my music. Quite a bit of it is FLAC, but a lot is MP3. The server's media directory is password protected. With the password turned on, the browser on android cannot stream the MP3. When I turn the password protection off, however - it can. Is there a way to enable streaming with password protection?

Also, streaming FLAC on android. Any ideas?

Thanks

This is kind of a workaround but if you're only password protecting the directory, then it's not very tight security anyways.

So a possible workaround might be to put them in a strangely named directory.

So instead of
Code:
http://example.com/music
put them in

Code:
http://example.com/459afc3e42fe34
It would then be very improbable that a person or bot would stumble upon the link, and if you ever noticed strange amounts of downloads you could change it. You would also be able to bookmark it easily for yourself.

As for Flac, I'm sure there are a few players out there with support but I don't know which off the top of my head.

Edit: welcome to AF :)
