Streaming gone wrong

This thread is not about live streaming, but about regular streaming.

I love to watch series on my HTC One X, which is a 7 months old. The phone has never actually been great. The first two I had couldn't receive wifi and this (the third) one sometimes lags while listening to music (that gives weird and loud ticks). This also happens during streaming. I've resetted the phone twice, but it still is there.

Also, it doesn't recognize when I unplug my ear plugs anymore so the only sound it can make now is ringtones. I can only call when I have my ear plugs in. I've tried a lot of things that I found on the internet (nothing with cleaning with water, though).

Now the main issue: lately, whenever I try to stream an episode (Dexter, GoT, Sitcoms), the video starts almost at the end of the episode. 30 minute episodes, for example, mostly start around 21 minutes. When I drag to the beginning (00:00), it just jumps back to that exact time where it started. Whenever I drag it to a random place (say 07:43), it commonly just goes back to where it started or it picks another random time, which is almost always later.

This happens with non-flash. When I try to stream flash, it starts at the beginning but it just stops after about 5 minutes.

I've tried different sites, mirrors, browsers, but they all seem to have the same problem.
A factory reset works for only a few days.

I want the video's just to start at 00:00, how they're supposed to start. Can someone help me?

All I know is that my next phone is NOT gonna be an HTC. My third HTC one in one month because the other two were actually just as useful as a $30 phone because they had no internet and this one has 3 seemingly unrelated bugs, other than that it has to do with media.

I'm making this thread after looking for simular issues, but I didn't find any. Don't get mad if a thread with the same issue already exists, but please give me the link to that topic.

After you do the factory reset, are you automatically putting back all the apps you had on the phone previous to the reset? When it happens, go into App Management in Settings to see what is running. I would force close other apps running in the background that are not related to your streaming to see if that improves performance. Also, is your internal storage full or near full?

some of them, not all of them, but I don't think it's the fault of the apps. It started happening a while ago. First it only happened to one series (weird, because the other series from the same site with the same mirror from the same uploader worked great. If you want to know which one it is, it was 'sasami-san@ganbaranai), but it started to happen more and more often. Whenever I do a factory reset, it seems like the problem returns at an increasing rate, just like the weird 'ticks' and lag in when I play media.

I tried to close the background apps, but no effect. When I returned to the management app after the failed attempt, I saw that the only app that working on the background again, was the normal HTC music app.

The storage is about half full (mostly music). It's about 32gb so it shouldn't be an issue.

my AVG app never found a virus.
