Help Stuck in Accessibility mode - HELP!!!!

Newbie
Hi,

This is really embarrassing - but I was checking out some threads to do with reducing the amount of time that audioout_1 wakelock was on and someone talked about enabling Accessibility and then turning off the various checkboxes and turning it off again.

I've enabled Accessibility - and now I'm completely screwed; the phone is locked and no matter what I do, I cant get the thing working. The unliock screen has a sign that says "double tao the then swipe the screen to unlock" but I can't do that.

I'm desperate here ....Can anyone help me?

Cheers

Pete

It's like a magic trick to disable Accessibility Mode once it's enabled. Go ahead and post a link to the YouTube that resolved your issue so others can have the resource when they check this thread.

It's a pain! Just use two fingers rather than one to get where you want to scroll. Select and double tap icons to use them or to get into settings. Here's the video that I found and it worked! It wont let me post a link in my first post but you should be able to figure it out from this ----> watch?v=at215z0mUdc

It's a youtube video.

Yes, I was silly enough to do the same thing. :stupid:

Hi.
I just got out of the nightmare on Samsung St. that started when I was goofing around with Accessibility mode. I turned on Direct Access and it was all but that. My Note 4 became a chatterbox. Telling me everything I was doing except breathing on the screen. Power cycling didn't work. It just got even more vocal. So here's what I found out from here, other sites, and a bit of patience.

1. Two fingers to scroll
2. Single tap select, double tap open. (For goodness sake get to Settings with all your might)
2.1 You can use the S-Pen (note series) to move around and select as your finger would in normal mode.
3. Select Direct access and TURN OFF. But you will still be stuck with a talkative phone and no normal fonger operation/usage.
4. Back out of Direct Access setting (single tapping the back arrow hard key seemed to work) and head right to VISION (this is the crux of this debacle).
5. Use all gusto and dexterity and uncheck.. I say again... UNCHECK Talkback. The phone will shut up mid-sentence, and you will have finger control again.
6. Drop to your knees and Thank the Lords of Cobol (well, that's what I did).

With the use of the S-Pen this procedure is possible but I can imagine it being quite maddening.

Again, this was on a Galaxy Note 4. I hope this helps
