Root Stuck: install default apk-file using ROM Manager (photo)

My SGS is the I9000 international version and I've updated to Froyo last month using Kies as it's been officially released in this region. I've rooted my phone with z4root and given superuser rights to ROM mananger. Now I want to do a backup of my current ROM before flashing to a new ROM. I've installed ROM Manager and flashed clockworkmod recovery (2.5.1.2) without problems. But when I click on Backup current ROM, it seems to be doing something and then just hangs on this screen:

Not sure if you can see it clearly, but the last line says Install default apk-files, finished. Nothing happens after that so I decided to reboot system now.

The second time round, I tried waiting for nearly 40 minutes but it stays at the screen. When I check my sdcard>clockworkmod folder, it only has a download folder and a recovery-update.zip. The zip contains the folders: meta-inf, res and sbin.

Hope someone can help me to troubleshoot. I've been surfing the net for hours but can't find the solution.

Hi holgalee,

Your phone hasn't frozen etc. but this is as far as you will get (for now). This is the default android recovery screen. From here you need to run Clockworkmod
