Stuck object in Headphone Jack

I was cleaning out my headphone jack with just a little piece of cotton and the cotton batting got stuck in and its lodged in there...anyone have advice about how to get rid of it... I'd really like to start listening to my music again.

Straighten out a paper clip, it worked wonders for me. You could even make it into a hook.
