Did you unlock your bootloader first?

Ok so everytime I try to go through that process I get a fatal error. I have tried everything I can imagine to fix but still same result

Open up the main lg update tool, and under one of the menus there is an option to recover phone. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed, put it into download mode, choose that option. It asks for your imei, which you can find behind the battery, and your phone model which will be listed as LGVS920. That's what I had to do yesterday.

You either have a bad download or are not typing the full path in. The error message specifically says that it can not extract the .cab file. Also, are you running the program as Administrator as the instructions say to?

im in the same boat man... im frantically searching for a fix... ill let you know if i do

I'm running windows 7 and had to allow the lg updater thrOugh the firewall as that was the same message I had received as well. Look in the security settings then firewall and there were 2 programs you need to let in

I tried disabling all security still same result. I also tried to do the recovery phone and it gets to about 20 % and then asks to restart. every time no luck :/
