Success with promo plan, but a few questions

Hi,

After 1 email and three phone calls, I was successful at getting the promo plan of unlimited text and data, as well as both lines being allowed an early upgrade (1 month early) to LG Vortexes. We got some great customer service in regards to the phone upgrades. They not only allowed us to upgrade early, but we got the BOGO that was no longer available on the website, without even asking. The email and first two phone calls were to regular customer service, and they misunderstood what we wanted to change to, and only changed our plan to the 1400 minute unlimited texting plan, so we called back and then were allowed to upgrade our phones, but only over the phone, which was strange since the website said we were eligible for upgrades, nothing about only over the phone. So my mother called the 877 number today, and after consulting with a manager, happily switched us to the promo plan. The phones are supposedly on their way and our contract date is an additional year from yesterday.

BUT

There is nothing on the website stating that we upgraded our phones. This is our first upgrade through Verizon and I don't know if it is supposed to change the upgrade status online before or after we activate the new phones. It still says we are eligible for upgrades. Will this change after we receive/activate the phones or did someone goof up? Also, once the phones are activated, will the contract end date be an additional two years, totaling three years?

Thanks!

One more question. If I don't like the Vortex, will I be able to exchange it at a store or will I have to go through customer service on the phone?

Your contract date will change when you activate the new phone and your contract will expire two years from the date of activation- they won't add 2 more years onto your existing contract.

I believe that you have to return the phones through the mail if you got them that way, but they will send you a prepaid label with the box and it is super easy to do so.
