Sudden Facebook notifications

I have the G2 and I have had it for close to 2 months. My facebook app is up to date. I never got notifications in my status bar when people responded to my post but all of a sudden yesterday it started to appear. I swear I changed nothing. Ideas?

I have noticed that these notifications will "magically" turn themselves back on.
I find myself having to go in there and turn them off, every few days... :mad:
 
I dont want to turn them off, i like them. I had been hoping to have them all along. I can't figure out why they just appeared though.
 
Yeah, it is truly bizarre. I get a single notification every few days. I haven't changed anything. Just once in a while, I get a notification. Then I'll go for a few days with nothing.

I must say it is a little disappointing. On my Bold 9700, I got FB notifications all the time without fail. It's really hit or miss on my captivate.
 
I got all my notifications yesterday but today I haven't gotten one.
It was very weird when I did see them yesterday, I thought maybe they fixed it and it would work again.
