Suddenly no connection to Notebook anymore

Suddenly I cannot get a connection to the Notebook anymore. The phone displays to be connected to the Notebook as it usual did, but there is no new device shown in Explorer.

What might I miss?

I assume you're using Windows. When you connect the phone is MTP or USB disk mode(if it's prior to 4.1) selected in the phone's USB settings? Also have you tried another USB cable?

Ah, no, not tried another cable, yet. I do not have a second one. Yes, Windows 7.

I have any idea, never heard of MTP, couldn't find these settings, but I didn't change anything, by purpose at least.
