Super AMOLED pixel shift

I posted this here, because I know that several phones have this type of screen (Super AMOLED). I've tried searching on the Internet, but it seems that I cannot explain my issue. If you have any ideas, great.

What happens is that my display will shift, pixel shift. What was on the right side of the display is now on the left, but in distorted colors. Sometimes, it's just a little sliver of the right or left side and that sliver is discolored. Other times, the inverse will happen where the sliver is normal and major part of the display is discolored. Usually this random shift is just a momentary thing, lasting a second or so, then the display will return to normal.

Is this common? Is it a serious issue?

So it's going mirror image like intermittently. That sounds very much like a fault. You could try hard resetting it.

try turning off auto-rotation just in case your accelerometer is playing up.
