Super mario rpg

i have heard that this game is way to complex to run on a droid and that is why there isnt a rom for it atm. i was wondering if it were possible in the near future to see a rom for it?? it is my favorite snes game!

What kind of roms does the snesoid play? It won't play my .7z files (says there's no appropriate rom files.) What kind do I need?

It won't play your .7z files as they're still archives with the game inside. Some emulators can open if they're still zipped up, but you need to extract them to leave you with the .smc file instead. THEN, snesoid will read them.

Download 7-Zip (free) and unzip the roms out of the archive. Generally SNES roms are in .srm format.

You can also unzip a 7z file with Androzip (free) from the market right on your phone.

IIRC the .srm files are saved game data, not the game itself. The actual game file is .smc, or at least it was for the ones I copied from my pc onto my hero. Copied the .smc files over on their own, and they all work.

Thanks for the correction, I get them mixed up (as you can see).

The Hero has old, lower end hardware in it. SNES games did not run at full speed with my old iPhone 3G either. Also, Super Mario RPG is probably one of the most demanding SNES games and requires good hardware (for a phone) to play it. I believe even the iPhone 3GS has trouble playing SNES roms at full speed with sound. The Droid and the N1 do it flawlessly though.
