Superman: Man of Steel

What is everyone's take on the new Superman movie? With Christopher Nolan producing, Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) directing, and David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Dark City) writing; it is certainly shaping up to be better than Superman Returns.
 
I heard somewhere it was going to be a darker version of Superman. Superman Returns was meh.
 
It will be really difficult to beat Christopher Reeves superman movies, just hopping this one to be at least entertaining.
 
Looking at the writing credits of Superman Returns, it seems we had writers of a straight to DVD horror flick and a straight to DVD Jean-Claude Van Damme flick. The fact that we are getting a writer with both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight under his belt should point to at least a much better script. As long as we don't end up with a 20 second Superman/Doomsday fight *cough Smallville* we should be good.
 
I heard that they will audition Brandon Routh for the part and there is a big fan push for Tom Welling as well. I don't think Routh is that bad. I think Singer was trying to make him act like he was Reeves and it just didn't work.
 
I have enjoyed smallville. It would be cool if they somehow tied it in with the final episode. They have gone about things wrong though. Everything has happened to soon
 
man superman returns sucked super donkey balls. its nice to see him actually fight a real villain and see how the cgi is gonna look
 
How many times are they doing Gen Zod? So many villians and they do the same stuff over and over. Seems like remake of Superman II.

I was really hoping for Brainiac or something. Someone other than Lex or Zod. It's always Lex or Zod. Lets get some new villians into the mix.

Oh brainiac would of been a very good one. I will say in superman returns Kevin spaceys portrayal of lex was how he should of been played in the first superman movie. Gene Hackman did a good job but I felt lex just wasnt dark enough.

I will still go to see this movie.

I'm assuming that this is in reply to my post about Goyer also writing and directing Blade: Trinity. I posted that to show that just because Goyer is writing it, it doesn't mean it'll necessarily be good.
 
why the hell they decided to bring back Zod ?

it should start with darkseid and doomsday to end trilogy (death of superman) if you recall it.

Im sure Lex in it somehow
