Help SuperOneClick doesn't work anymore.

I updated my Galaxy S to Gingerbread and now I need root again. Superoneclick has failed me. It worked back when I was on 2.2, but now it just locks up. How can I root my phone now? Is there an app that will do it that I can download to the phone or something?

I'm on 2.3.5 and SOC worked fine.

I thought it might be 64 bit windows throwing me off but I tried it on 32 bit and it still just locks up. How long does superoneclick take to work? I let it sit there for like 10 minutes.

Is there no other way to root a phone?

Android sucks why can't you just root from the OS like windows' admin privileges.

For me, the easiest method of rooting is Chanfires root. It literally takes one minute to perform and you get ClockWorkMod thrown into the bargain too.
