support adoptive storage

Which companies support adoptive storage and which don't? I don't really like the idea of having sd cards which are unreadable, but I don't know any other way to make them really useful. Is there any way out of this dilemma?

For me adoptive storage is pretty much a dead duck, considering its drawbacks.
And no I don't see any way out of the dilemma - external storage is not very useful for offloading apps from internal, because a lot of the app's data is still retained there.
Not a great situation is it?
I use my SD card mainly for storing media files, such as video and photos.

I know Samsung doesn't. It's never been a problem for me, because I've always ensured any phones and tablets have had enough internal storage for the apps and games I want to use, and the micro-SD is for media, documents, etc. My current phone is 64GB internal.

Wow, what is your current phone, mikedt? I should probably get one of those, as long as it's not too expensive. This ZTE Z815 has only 8 gb. I guess some people with computer access can partition theirs and make some adoptive, some portable. What's the alternative, getting a bunch of sd cards and swapping them out all the time?

My Fire tablet has a paltry 5GB internal. I naively assumed that a huge SD card would compensate, but in reality, the internal memory has become consumed pretty quickly. Oh well, my mistake for not researching properly.

I don't know about later models but my HTC M9 supports setting up the SD card as internal storage. I haven't tried it because the 32GB internal storage coupled with a 16GB sd card as removable storage for music, photos, downloaded maps etc. is more than enough for me.

LG and Samsung do not support adoptable storage

I know that w/LG you can "force" it through ADB.

I've partitioned my SD cards as 15% adoptable/75% portable with a 16 gb internal storage. It worked fine because I had a decent sd card.
