Don't see why not, it's a really handy and neat feature though many don't seem to use when taking screen caps. Here's what I'm referring to (on Android 6).

The hide option is meant for times like when watching a video, playing a game or browsing a webpage you don't need it.
Or to type a message with more space, such as now.
