swap phones - use live agent, not online

If anyone is considering swaping phones or resetting plans, it's best to do it with a live adviser.

I attempt to swap PL to BT phone and plan online, it failed on the last step. Of course it subtracted $35 from my balance :) yet my phone and plan is still PL. The adviser blamed it on 'maintenance', I gotta wait hours to call abck. So my account is short $35, my PL resets in matter of hours, and my MT doens't work.

It seems VM payment, phone plans, and phone hardware are not synced, I got billed but phone is not activated and they can't do anything due to maintenance. It's best to do it all with a live adviser at one time IMO.

I finally got the phone activated on BT which they took another $35 from my account. So the dispute (and VM finance better solve this is...) during my orginal failed online swap, VM subtracted $35 and... there is no history of it in my payment history WTF!?!

IMO ebay / pay pal / amazon have top notch money transfer services, plenty of reciepts, emails, and paper trails. VM DOES NOT, so be careful, all records stored online and transactions are done flash based. No emails, no proofs. Plz be careful.

I swapped from my Intercept to my OPv online with no issue whatsoever. My experiences with online reps have been sordid at best.

Update for those interested:

Backstory: I got double charged but the bad charge did not show up in their system or my payment history (system maintanence?)

Unresolved: I filed 2 reports which were closed (without my knowledge ), they did not find the double charge :mad:.

Fix: Unsure of the incident report status I called live advisor and explain the issue, also I had to argue that my recent top ups netted a balance that is below my current balance, money is missing, it was my only proof. The live advisor was kind enough to solve it and fixed everything real time.

Advice: when dealing with money transfer, go with a live advisor instead of website, that way money can't 'disappear' with no record.

Advice 2: when calling for a live advisor, try calling near closing time, I got an American, I think India is offline late in the day (sleepy time )
