Swiping to unlock

My note 4 has suddenly in the last few days developed a problem where even the slightest touch unlocks the phone (yes I know swipe to unlock isn't the securist). It's really bad though I've pocket dialled more in the last week than ever in my life. I've picked my phone out my pocket to find its opened emails, or gallery or Twitter.. And I've no idea Why.. Any hints would be appreciated..

I've activated pattern lock for now and even then I think it's trying to unlock.

I checked to be safe but that's not activated, neither is smart lock or anything.. It appears my lockscreen has taken on a mind of its own.

I've had a day to think on this, and I now believe that the digitizer is damaged.

there is a small dimple in it from it having been subjected to "a rock like" article and enough pressure applied to permanently deform the digitizer surface.

for me, that could be the top of my office desk if it is laid face down :(

carrying it in your pocket is a 'no no', just for that reason.o_O

Is the right answer Eric. Had it turned over the winter for gloves and never give it another thought. Turned it off and screen behaviour returned to normal. Much to my friends and familys relief as they're all sick of getting pocket dialled.
