Switch contacts from one gmail account to another on phone?

I'm running on a Droid (original), and I'm not planning on using one of my old email addresses that has a lot of my contacts on my phone associated with it; is there a quick and easy way to change the email these are associated with? I'm using two different email addresses on my Droid right now and I'd say about 70% of them are on this (soon to be defunct) email. Ideas?

Can I export ALL my contacts from my phone and reimport them under another email address?

I am pretty sure you can log into the gmail account you want to stop using (on a PC), click on contacts, top right ish click on export. save it to your computer.

Log into the gamil account you want to use, click on contacts, click on import.

If you have the LG Ally, the original Gmail account is THE account for the phone. You cannot even change the password. According to Verizon, GOOGLE required that. Whether they did or not, it is stupid. Who doesn't change their passwords frequently for security, especially on Gmail???

The tech support guy told me I would have to totally erase everything to factory settings and put the gmail account on with the new password. Totally stupid. I don't think anyone has a brain any more.
