I'm thinking of leaving Sprint due to a handful of reasons that can't seem to be resolved. But their list of phones isn't great. I'd probably look to get a Razr Maxx for $150 on Amazon and sell my Epic Touch 4G, and swap my contract and avoid an ETF of nearly $320.

Unlimited data and minutes are useless when your connection to either is a roll of the dice. I don't think I've ever gone over 4GB, only thing I'd miss is the unlimited mobile to mobile. Anyways my union gives us 15% off, so in the end I'm paying roughly the same.

Should I wait it out until early Fall? I've survived this long on Sprint, what's another few months? The only reason I'm considering this is because they scrapped their new every two, so I better make sure "DRM" is the phone I want for the next 2 years. Unless I wait for the first big quad core beast to show up, and be content with a great phone and new service that lets me use it.

Curiosity is making me ask a couple questions.

What do you mean by "swap contracts"?

And how does this let you avoid an ETF at Sprint?

I'm guessing "Assumption of Liability", effectively - someone else picks up the remainder of your contract - thus, no ETF.

Yeah sites like Cell Swapper let you post your contract and someone else takes it. You pay a small fee, but it's better than paying $320.

Is the double data promo the 4GB for $30? I really haven't paid attention to Verizons plans. All I know is that they're the king of nickel and dimming.

I saw the Droid Razr HD, which I'd probably get instead of the Razr Maxx. I'm itching to switch but now I'm also interested in what Google has in store for November 5th. At the very least I can wait until they hold their conference.

I just called last week and they said until the third. I hope it was true because I'm planning on activating a new line

I'm pretty sure the Droid Razr HD is a while away from release (late summer).
Yep, definitely after the double data deal ends and possibly (probably?) after the new shared tiered data plans go into effect. So the practical options seem to be make the change now and get the double data deal with one of the current phones or wait until more is known about the Razr HD release and the new shared data plans, then make a decision.
