Switch to Android?

I've been thinking of switching from my Palm Pre to the HTC EVO 4G released today, but I have a couple of questions:

- Does Android support Exchange? Multiple Exchange accounts?
- Does it simultaneously support multiple address books and calendars (Exchange, Google, Yahoo, etc., aka some kind of synergy feature)?
- My biggest gripe with my Palm Pre is the lack of apps, namely social apps, developed for it (I always see made for iPhone and Android badges). Will my app experience be that much greater on Android as I'm hoping or am I getting ahead of myself?


Any kind of insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
I know of at least 1 app that supports Exchange on Android, but there are probably others. The benefit of the Android system is that it's open and that's why you see the huge apps growth in short time (around 50,000 recently). Do a search at the online android market website to see if there are apps listed for what you want.

Not very well, in my opinion.

But, Touchdown is a very strong email app to use to connect to Exchange servers.

I don't see a way to have multiple accounts, but I'm not sure it doesn't.

It's also $20. But, well worth it.
 
Well I think that the EVO having HTC desire has something built into it though I couldn't tell you. (HTC sync I believe?)

It's not a hard transition though from outlook to gmail. I used to use it but, Gmail is so much more practical as far as calendar and what not, just me though.
 
Well, I juggle multiple identities in that I'm a contractor plus I have my own lil' business plus another lil' on the side side business and finally my personal life. That's a couple of Exchange accounts (including email, contacts and calendar), a couple of Gmail and Yahoo! accounts (also including email, contacts and calendar), POP and IMAP accounts and Facebook contacts and calendar. My Palm Pre handles all this beautifully and I'd hate to go back to my Windows Mobile days where ALL my business & personal contacts and calendar had to be housed in my work's Exchange account :/

Does Android at least support having multiple contacts/address books and calendars (this wasn't addressed in anyone's reply)?
 
Picked up the HTC EVO anyway, so far its okay, still haven't had that "wow!" moment with it yet (like I did when I bought the Pre last year), I doubt I will. Android is just too clunky and boxy, HTC Sense doesn't help much either :/ Since apps are becoming more important to me, I'll stick with it.

Anywho, Android does support multiple address books and calendars (and of course multiple email accounts). I'll just enable IMAP on my Exchange server to get access to my Exchange mail
 
I have the Android. I also have 4 email accounts, 5 different calendars and it syncs them all. I have never had any trouble. This is a great phone, I have 3 different jobs to manage. I also have 4 different contact lists and get them all with no problem. My best friend has a Blackberry and wants the android now that she see's what my phone does.
