Help Switched To ART Runtime, arrrgggghhhh

My phone has been running too slowly, mainly in switching between apps. I thought switching to the ART runtime would improve things. My phone has 200mb of rom storage left.

The phone rebooted and says "optimizing apps" then finally boots and says "*.systemui crashed". Eventually it booted to the home screen and said the phone is out of space. I'm guessing I should have cleared out my dalvik cache before doing this :(

Is there any way to fix this other than a bricked recovery? Is there a safe mode or some other way to get back to where things were? I did have usb debugging enabled, so perhaps I could get into a shell from my pc? The main thing I want to do is be able to "relink" my link2sd partition, even after a format/debrick.

I found this pertinent thread, so I think my only option is to format and reload.

These threads mentions that link2sd doesn't support ART, and many of my apps were linked with link2sd.
