Switching from Verizon to AT&T, call quality?

Hi all,

I'm considering switching from Verizon to AT&T because of Verizon's high costs and worse phone selection. The only thing that worries me is, I know a few years ago, many of my friends who had AT&T were getting dropped calls all the time here in the San Francisco/San Jose/Bay Area. What I'm wondering is, is that still true? Anyone else who's switched from V to A in the Bay Area, can you comment on call quality?

Thanks!

Call quality and dropped calls depend on a few things - but which carrier has better or worse service changes monthly (at least).

About the only "call quality" issue that remains constant is what happens when the call "goes digital" (the signal gets very weak, but not weak enough to cut off completely [which is when you lose the call]). CDMA (Verizon) sounds like it's underwater. GSM (AT&T) sounds like it's being autotuned.
