Switching handsets after July 7??

Had anyone tried switching handsets since the tiered data plans went into effect? I typically switch around between a couple of phones, but I'm nervous about doing it now. I know I am supposed to be grandfathered into the unlimited plan... just don't want to screw up.

I got an email from Verizon Wireless yesterday that if I upgrade to a 4G smart phone, I can keep my unlimited data plan, and I can also get unlimited mobile hot spot for $30 more dollars.

Verizon CSR said to me on the phone last night that as long as you had the unlimited data plan before July 7, then you keep it. Even if you upgrade your phone. I guess the new data plans are for new people who want a data plan or new Verizon customers.

I was told by CSR that the unlimited data feature went with the line of service, not the device on the line, so as long as you are switching between devices that use the same data plan you would be fine. He said that he could not be 100% positive on switching between BB and other smartphones, the BB plan was worded slightly differently, I'd clarify that if you're dong that kind of switch. I'm going to do all switching in a Verizon store to get some kind of print out that shows I still have unlimited before I walk out the door!
