Switching to VM

Hi everyone, this is my first post on androidforums.

I am planning on switching from tmobile to Vm soon and have a couple of questions about which phone I should get. I could get the optimus v, the new optimus slide or wildfire s (I'm not including the intercept because of bad reviews and triumph is too expensive).

Which of these would you recommend and why? Also, should I wait another month or 2 for new phones to come out or for prices to go down for the holiday season? Please contribute, any feedback would be great as I have not owned an android phone yet and an not familiar with the devices.
 
Only one of the three phones you are considering are available. The specs on all three are pretty close, except for the physical keyboard (and the two new phones have Gingerbread).

The Optimus V is currently $99 at Best Buy. I just purchased a second one (for my wife) Friday. I had considered waiting for the Slider but the price difference and wait weren't worth it.

If you wait for new phones and then for prices to fall more phones will be announced (they have another slider coming out next year as well as one more phone this year at least.

I looked on Best Buy's site and the Optimus V was showing up as $150. Has this promotion ended already?

I think the $99 was a discounted sale price, only good during the week of 9/25 - 10/01.
 
I can only recommend the OpV. It's a solid and dependable phone.

You were smart to stay away from the Intercept. It's only a nice phone if you only use it once in awhile lol.

As for the other new phones coming.. I can't recommend those. If it were me, Id wait till they were out for at least a few months and follow their user forums here (I'm sure the admins will make new forums for them). Check to see what type of issues, if any, current users are having with them.

However, if you absolutely must have a phone now then I would definitely go with the OpV. It's currently VM's best android phone.
 
I finally got the Optimus V and for only $100!!!!! I just went to my local best buy and showed them the ad for $100 (they didn't notice it was expired). Thanks for the help and I look forward to using my new phone!
