Swype 3.0

My version is 3.6 and it is TERRIBLE.

They improved the possible word choices by adjusting to Android standards but that is about it.

When you have to edit the middle of a word, Swype places the cursor at the end of the word. I have found no known way to get to the middle of the word!

I have found cases where I am typing each letter but using the swype keyboard and when I hit space to finish the word, it takes the first option in the word bar (?). Even if the first choice was not the word I wanted by typing it out a letter at a time, it picks it.

Does anyone know how to rollback the version or to overcome these issues?

I need to provide some specific examples...

I don't think it's possible to roll-back Swype. The licensing for the version 2.x expired on 6/19 or somewhere around there, do if you try to install from an old .apk it won't activate. Maybe you should contact the developer about it.

To move around within a word, in the main keyboard, swype from the 'swype' key to the 'SYM' key. This will bring up the navigation panel where you can go left, right etc.

Another way to place the cursor where you want it is to long press on the word. A magnifier window will appear where you can fine tune the placement.

I don't have a problem with Swype placing the cursor at the end of the word as I use my trackball to place it in the right place. Out of interest, I tried the tip re the long press but it just brings a menu up to Edit Text eg Select All, Select Text etc.

I get that too, but only after I lift my finger from the word. The magnifier window is displayed as long as my finger is still touching the screen.
