Swype alternatives

I've noticed that Swype no longer lets me set accuracy vs speed, a useful feature when it still existed. The accuracy is really not as good now as in former versions, I'm finding.

Anyone know of a good (and free) Swype alternative, that allows swiping rather than tapping? I've already tried the Samsung keyboard and its accuracy is not better than Swype IMO.

I've long since left swipe for swiftkey and it's way better. It doesn't have an accuracy vs speed, but it learns what words you type most often and it will suggest those more often as you use it more, whether swiping or tapping. Heck I can type entire sentences now just using one letter then repeatedly selecting suggested words.

Your best options are probably the google keyboard or swiftkey. I switch between the two on a regular basis but usually end up going back to the google keyboard because i find it to be much more responsive. However, the latest swiftkey update was said to greatly improve its responsiveness and I have not tried that update yet.

From my experience, nothing beats Swype for gesture typing. Alternatives I have tried are SwiftKey, Google Keyboard and Kii Keyboard.

My personal favorite is SWYPE!

Yet that said I use a few, each for their particular strengths. Here's the list:

1) SWYPE
2) Google
3) SwiftKey
4) Flexsy

My name is Vin and I'm a "keyboard junkie," lol. Having said that I have to tell you that I have ALL the major keyboards and for pure accuracy with gesture typing, Swype is still the best followed by Google. For NOT having to type, the best predictive keyboard hands down is Swiftkey, no other one comes close, although Swype would be the next in line. Depending on how much I feel like actually typing as opposed to predicting my way through a conversation I'll often switch between keyboards, but for right now I have to tell you that Swype is still the most accurate around with Google coming in a very close second!

P.S. For all around performance you might want to give TouchPal X a try, I think it's one of the best free gesture typing keyboards around!

Great point Chan, I forgot about that, it's the ONLY keyboard I have seen that remembers the puntuation! Mostly "!" lol.
