swype beta on G1

so i downloaded the beta swype for my G1 (yes i know time for a new phone thats coming soon) and i got it to come up when im searching the internet or google but it wont type anything i tried swyping a bunch of different words and all i got was the beep saying it didnt register. will it not work on my G1? its still stock rom btw

It could possibly be because the older swype beta has expired. You could always go to Swype | Text Input for Screens and sign up to get the latest beta. I'm not sure if its closed yet. It's worth a shot though.
