I have a rooted Motorola Milestone 2 running Android 2.2.
I downloaded the Sygic gps app. Luckily I hadn't bought any maps yet, but relied on the seven-day trial.
I downloaded the maps for the country I'm in via wifi, but when I try to run the Sygic app, I get a black screen for about one second, then I see the text "Sygic" in the status bar for about two seconds, and then nothing.
Of course I tried the usual IT approach of rebooting and retrying with my fingers crossed, but to no avail.
Sygic lists the Milestone 2 as a compatible device on its website but I beg to differ! Searching some forums it seems I am not the only one with this problem.
I contacted them but haven't heard back.
Do you know of a way to fix it? Can you recommend another offline GPS app (other than CoPilot which I can't get to work either)?
