Help < symbol on the keyboard

Ok, so my gf just got one of these devices and she loves to send me <3's...it's her way of substituting a real response through text.

Anyways, she's pretty technologically challenged, so she keeps complaining to me that she can't find the < sign. I haven't played with the phone yet, but I'm sure it's a simple fix. Can someone help me out?

I would recommend the Optimus S in purple for your girlfriend actually. Anyway tell her to not use the keyboard for hears, but to open the virtual keyboard when making a text, press the "123?" button and then the "alt" button, and then theres all those fancy keys for her hearts and whatnot. Remember though, Optimus S.

She's fond of the physical keyboard.
