Sync address book with Toyota Tacoma ??

I am wondering if anyone has gotten their Motorola Android to share the phone address book with the JBL audio on a Toyota Tacoma

They pair up just fine.

I go to the "phone book" nothing there.

I go to add an entry "From Phone" it says "please start the transfer from the phone" which I dont see an option for.

Someone suggested going to the Networks | Bluetooth then holding down the Car entry, and disabling then enabling the "Phone" entry

Tried this, and it doesnt pair and doesnt work.

Someone else suggested on the Droid, to export all contacts to a VCF file
Then get the Bluetooth file transfer, and when the car asks to transfer, enable the file transfer.

The phone finds the car and starts the transfer but I guess the file format is not good as the car says "Failed"

has anyone made this work ?

That sounds very similar to what I did, but you might want to give my routine a try for what its worth. This procedure worked for me on my 2005 Toyota Prius Navigation system to transfer entire groups of contacts to the car. I had to use Astro File Manager and the native Bluetooth in the phone because the Bluetooth File Transfer app has never worked on my Sprint Hero.

I too exported all of the contacts I wanted to transfer to a .vcf file. I used Google GMail on the web which allowed me to export any group of contacts in my Gmail to a .vcf file which I copied to my SDCard. I had to edit the .vcf file since my car's system doesn't like multiple numbers per contact, so I had to split-up any contact with multiple numbers and give each a unique name manually, but this is just a limitation of my car's system to receive contacts.

Then, I installed Astro File Manager from the Android market.

Opened Astro File Manager and hit MENU/More/Preferences and selected 'Edit File Extensions'.

Selected the 'New Extension' button.

Input 'vcf' (without quotes) as the Extension Name.

Input 'text' (without quotes) as the Mime Type.

Input 'x-vcalendar' (without quotes) as the SubType.

And hit Save.

Now, I backed out until I got to my SDCard file listings in Astro, I Long-Pressed the .vcf file on my SDCard, I hit 'Send', then hit 'Bluetooth', at which point I then put my car in contact transferring receive mode, and I finally selected my Handsfree car system on the phone which transfered the .vcf file with all the contacts to my car.
