Sync Outlook 2007 Calendar and Contacts with my S3

By now we all know that Google discontinued their calendar sync app so I wanted to hear from you all on what apps you are using to sync you calendar and contacts. Would like to know the things you like about the apps that you have used and what you don't like about them. Would appreciate as much detail as possible.

Thanks

All the search gives me out of date information and not a lot of detail. I looked into MyPhoneExplorer and there is a lot of information about it installing malware. Even with the warning I did intall it and both Malwarebytes and Norton found malware so I have decided not to try the app.

I still would like comments from other people on what they are using and their like and dislikes.

Hmm. There's a recent thread with it mentioned .....

Go check the forums out at ... FJ Software :: Forum anzeigen - English section ... the "malware" isn't a problem if you look at what's being installed. I've used it for nearly 4 years and had zero problems.

Thank, at this point it really doesn't matter. Since I will be replacing the PC next week I did install MPE even with the warnings from Norton and MalwareBytes. After installing I ran some tests and MPE truncated some of my notes that I have for contacts ( they were less than 5000 characters) so I will not be using the app.

Still open to further suggestions

I use the free Hotmail/Outlook.com method of syncing my Outlook calendar & contacts with Android. No app required. Works great.

You can find many free and paid solutions at Syncdroid.net. It has a nice grid-view of the apps and features. You may want to look at Outlook-Google Calendar Sync if you only care about calendars (not contacts).

Thanks for your response, I actually found that site over the weekend and have tried several of the apps and so far it looks like CompanionLink is the one that I favor.

Thanks for the feedback, I am still in the 14 day trial period but I believe that I will be buying it. I am syncing directly through gmail and not using Deja Vu. I had a problem with alarms not getting set in gmail but their tech support solved that issue. So everything looks good so far.

Maybe I don't understand the question correctly, but I simply use Google calendar. It syncs automatically and usually almost instantly with the native "S Planner" in my Samsung Galaxy S4. I just tried it (today, 20 Aug) and it works fine.

Are you sure that it actually transferred data back and forth because discontinued this app as of August 1st?
