syncing Contact info from a Android phone to outlook

I just was shown I had a similar issue with a note 7. Evidently Android phones wont sync with MS Outlook.
Maybe I should have come here first. My issue is syncing contacts from the phone to my outlook account on my laptop. The phone is a LG V20. The laptop is is MS Surface book using office 365. The 2 will not sync contacts. The syncing is fine with emails, pictures and documents. I have the one drive app installed on the phone as well as the outlook app. So far I have contacted ATT first. They were awesome, and showed me where to seput the correct settings, but still no joy. I then contacted LG (they were a joke) In fact they transferred me to a place that showed me where my laptop had been hacked. They wanted $179 to fix the problem. I smelled a rat and declined. Then I went to MS. After checking, they too wanted me to subscribe to a support option that would fix this issue. They were only $149. I also declined this. Then was transferred to the Mobile support. They claimed it was an issue with LG. and transferred me to them. They told me the only thing they support is the hardware. And tried to transfer me back to MS. I gave up on any support. I then started l;ooking at 3rd party apps for this Android phone. I understand the V20 uses the newest version of android, which I believe is Nougat. I have always used outlook aas my contact manager. I have had Iphones up to I5s and then switched to windows phone and switched to a note 7. They all synced fine with outlook. I had 2 Note 7’s and synced fine.

So please folks, what am I missing. At this rate, I will go back to my windows phone (which I loved, and still do.). I switched because of the app issue and my business has to many suppliers that do not make apps for windows phones. Please help.

Download an email app that handles Exchange (many have a free trial for a week). They use Activesync to sync between your phone and your main data base. Worth a shot.

You can use Akruto. Although it can't sync emails, it works perfectly with contacts and calendars. It has a free trial for a week just like IHateMyTreo said. The only thing I think is missing in this software is syncing via USB (only Wi-Fi/Internet syncing at the moment).

follow on query.

Is there a good way to get synced exchange based calendar events? I don't so much want my office outlook contacts on my mobile but I would like the calendar events replicated on my Google/android calendar.
