Help Syncing Individual Contacts

Only had my S3 for a couple of days so far, so am still getting used to it.

Have managed to sync my contacts with my facebook contacts, so I have pictures for everyone etc. I have deleted some of those contacts which I didn't want.

In the future, let's say I make a new friend and we become facebook friends and even exchange numbers with one another. How can I sync his facebook with the contact for him on my phone, without syncing absolutely everyone and bringing back all the contacts who I deleted?

Did you sync them with the Facebook app for android, or did you use an individual app for syncing contact pictures only? Because I know for fb app, you don't necessarily delete the contacts, but rather you 'hide' them. And so next time you sync, those 'hidden' contacts will not show up again unless you manually show then back.

Not sure how it works for other apps though.

Sorry, I don't think I explained my problem very well. Basically, I'm wondering if there's a way of syncing individual facebook friends with my contacts list, rather than syncing the whole lot.
