When I want to screen shot on my phone it says 'unfortunately system AU has stopped working' how do I fix this?

How do I do this? And would it remove anything of my phone like my pics and vids as there of my 2 kids?Try to reboot the device and try it again
Oh, sorry, by "reboot", I mean power the device off, then back on again. This will clear any wonkyness such as the UI error

Correct. Restart is fine, same thing.

I have done this in the past since the AU thing happened and it still comes up, is there anything I could do via the settings?
Well, at first I thought the "AU" was a typo. Does it really say, "AU"? or "System UI"?

Ah, ok. So powering your device off, then on does not help your error when trying to take a screen shot eh?

Google says hold all the buttons down and it will clear the cache . I don't want to wipe the phone as I have pics and vids ect.
Understandable. Sometimes updates cause some unintended errors such as yours.
Not sure what you, or google means by holding all the buttons down unless you mean going into recovery mode via a specific button combination.
I'd have to google on how to boot into recovery mode to clear the cache. That may help. Agreed with not factory resetting....sometimes that's a pain in the butt.

Just be sure to clear the cache (wipe cache partition) only....not factory reset. Once you clear the cache, you can choose to reboot. You will not lose anything.

So I just need to click on the link and follow the instructions? I really can't loose anything on the phone
That is correct. Just remember to wipe the cache partition only. Once done, highlight the reboot option and you will be back up and running...nothing is lost.

I have done everything that the link says ant it was stuck on the Samsung screen for a while. The phone wouldn't turn on, somehow I managed to get it back on it didn't work...

So, still the same error eh? Not sure what else to try just short of a factory reset. Unless someone else chimes in and offers another solution.
