T-Mobile 0 down devices

Thinking about switching to T-Mobile since they're no contract, and since the 0 down payments seems like a great deal. Only thing is not sure which device to go with.

I'm partial to Samsung devices. I'm thinking either the S4, the S5, or the Note 3.

I don't really honestly download tons of apps, I use it mainly for web browsing, youtube, fb, etc. But it would be nice to have a device that's got a lot of memory and is quite speedy.

What do you guys think? So far I'm thinking the S4. I've played with the S5 at the store and it seems pretty nice, but it seems really touch sensitive to me, if that makes sense? I also heard the Note 3 can be quite laggy sometimes.

Do you like value for your money? Nexus 5 is the way to go. Somehow the screen look wider than narrow which make it good for typing. Get it from the Google store.

Yeah somewhat. I don't have to have the most expensive device. With the current plan I'm thinking of setting up, purchasing an S4 would bring me to 82 dollars a month. not really that much.

update: also tried signing up for the plan, but what gives? If these phones are zero down, why are they trying to make me pay a 54 dollar down payment on the phone?

you need to pay tax up front for the entire cost of the phone.

and if you need a sim card, that's an extra $10.

They take your down payment to pay off your bill if u miss a payment . that is to help keep you with a phone and not be behind in payments.

There's no down payment? That's probably the tax and the Sim card.

Simple Choice with No credit check is the one that requires a deposit per line for if you miss a bill but you wouldn't be able to finance a phone on that plan anyway

They also require another 240 dollars? What the heck?! Or is that just for samsung devices..?

The guy told me it was 240 down without even running my credit in a T-Mobile store. My credit is still good, at 659. So you must have to have an immaculate credit in order to get the zero down so I'm not even gonna mess with that.

Well, of he didn't run it - he didn't give you the option for $0 down.

Have them run it

So online you don't have to pay 240 dollars?
Look at the website. The phones say $0 up front next to them

I even got on the chat and asked them.

$0 down upon credit approval.

Isn't that one of the sales from last year? That's probably just the terms for that sale. For a while every phone has been 0 down and I got my Note 3 for 0 down in store

... yes. That would appear to be the case. Sorry about that! That was just the first result I found when Googling :p

FYI-I've noticed the people in the stores don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. They're all third-party which doesn't help either. I went to set up my mother-in-law with a free tablet data account and had to inform the manager of the store that it exists, then he had to call T-Mo to do it because he couldn't. Just do everything online or over the phone-buy the phone, set up the service-everything. They are way better over the phone. And seriously consider getting the Nexus 5 from Google Play. You'll save serious $$ and have an excellent phone.

That has been my experience as well. When I went to a T-Mobile store interested in purchasing the Optimus L9 the rep said I could get it for the lower price and I could use it on the $30 100 minute plan. I should've known that was too good to be true. I called back like one or two days later and I was told I couldn't do that. Long story short I ended up buying it through T-Mobile's website.

I will say that I have had good experiences at the store but I probably wouldn't buy a new phone at one.

The store employees are worthless.

Way back when T-Mobile offered corp discounts, I went into a store to try and set it up. The employees acted like they have never heard of this promotion. I told him it's on the T-Mobile website and they were still clueless.

Had to set it up with a phone call.
