Help T-Mobile blocked root tether for non smart phone devices. need help for Xbox/laptop.

Had root tether working for 5 months using my rooted nexus 5, this week I couldn't play Xbox games just the Netflix and YouTube. I think T-Mobile filters my data now? Idk. My tether still works for my tablet and iPhone 5s, just not the extra Xbox features or laptop.

I guess that T-mobile is maybe now doing deep packet inspections, to determine what devices you're using. A tablet and an iPhone are probably OK, as they're recognized mobile OSs, i.e. Android and iOS. An Xbox and a laptop(Windows) are not. This came up in another thread recently, about 3UK who operates a tethering block unless paying an extra tethering fee, could tether an Android tablet but not a Windows laptop.

I can partely tether my chrome browser on my laptop by spoofing it to look like a mobile one, but I get mobile version of some sites but my main focus is my Xbox, my Netflix and YouTube on my Xbox work fine, I guess they don't filter any media apps that would be on a smart phone. But still it has converted my Xbox one into a expensive media box. But thanks mikedt.
