Root [T-Mobile] I am rooted, but not really??

OK, GS3 on TMO. I have an app for work that I HAVE to use. I say our 'developers' suck. They say in retort 'Quit modifying your phone and it'll work fine.' So, it is here that I am stuck...

I need to go NEARLY completely stock. I NEED internet. I NEED to tether. I NEED more than 2g/mo. I NEED their damn app.

So, I DL the latest FW from Sammobile, flashed with ODIN, and lost root, 100% stock. All is well. I then flashed CWM with ODIN, and then the CWM Superuser from Recovery. Root Explorer seems to acknowledge root, as I can venture places I shouldn't and mount R/W. But tether apps and others say "The required binaries are there, but you do not seem to be rooted."

I CAN go ahead and flash another ROM and get my tethering and such back, but I don't want to. I need to run as close to stock as possible, so how is it that the stock ROM isn't doing it? I should be able to attain root privledges within the stock ROM right?

Anyone got a light??

Rooting is all or nothing. It may be the SU binaries that is causing a problem with the App you need for work, which are needed for Root access for certain apps. If you need more than 2g a month you may have to have your Company pay for it.

Nah. I've about come to the conclusion that it's their app. I reverted back to stock, and still have EXACTLY the same issues. I believe it is actually a problem with latency over 2g and satellite internet connections causing a problem with the SSL connection they are trying to have the app connect to. 4G and fast WiFi, no problems at all.
