I am currently on metro pcs...it sucks bad here..at least for me...and i am getting tired of their crappy phones....anyways, birthday is coming up, going to be buying a Nexus 4 and I was wondering how the coverage is here in Southern California for T-mo

they seem to be the best option for the N4 and so I figured i'd ask people how the coverage is here in Southern California

(specifically i live in Long Beach..but Southern California should suffice)

My brother is using T-Mobile via Solavei in Southern California with no complaints. A lot of driving between Upland and Huntington Beach - seems like I get texts from my niece anytime she's bored riding in the car.

BTW I still love my Nexus 4 and have no problem recommending it.

what they say/show on the maps doesn't necessarily come across in real time use...thanks though!

Actually, Sensorly (which is what he linked) is a third-party coverage map created using data collected from users phones, and they show results from all carriers. As such, the data should be pretty good, just that they may not have data for everywhere you need it.

As for T-Mobile's coverage map, my experience is they are pretty accurate. They even mark how strong the signal should be, if you zoom in to the neighborhood level, giving ratings of "excellent", "good", "satisfactory", and "2G" with definitions for each.

I thought it was the t-mobile coverage map :P i'll actually check it out now...Thanks!

*walks away in shame and embarrassment*

You can also try an app called carrier coverage which shows you the best coverage stats in your area. T-Mobile does have a pretty large network though so you probably won't have a problem. From my experience the T-Mobile coverage maps are very accurate, unlike the inaccurate sprint maps.
