T-Mobile LG G2 signal issue

Anyone else experience this? My wife has the G2 and I have the Nexus 5, I notice that in some spots I am getting 2 bars of Hspa+ ans she is only getting 2g. If I go into her options, network operators and then select Tmobile lte then her 4g somes back and she gets a 4g signal. Eventually the signal returns to 2g. I have tried a new sim and same issue. It's almost like the phone wants to stay on 2g. Any ideas????

Which version of ANDROID are you on? (4.2.2 or 4.4.2)

If you've recently updated to KIT-KAT (4.4.2),was this problem present while on JELLY BEAN (4.2.2)?

Still 4.2.2. Haven't gotten ota yet.

Keep us posted on your progress/results, especially after you update to KIT KAT.

If the problem persists afterwards, I'd make a visit to T-MOBILE & request a replacement.

Have you tried a factory reset?

I know they're potentially a PITA, but, it's definitely worth a shot, as w/certainty the folks @ T-Mobile will attempt this before exchanging the handset.
