T-Mobile long text messages

Hi I'm migrating from an iPhone 4 on AT&T to the G2 on T-Mobile and one of the things that's sticking in my craw is the text size limit on T-Mobile, in terms of not being able to write a long text message without it being sent to the person in 2-3 separate text messages. I'm looking to see if there is an app that overcomes this issue, if it can. I've been impressed with how I've been able to "fix" some issues on the G2 using various programs and widgets so I thought I'd see what might be out there for this issue.

Actually, I don't know so much about the limitation, but when I'm using my Galaxy S, and if the text message gets too long, it converts the message into MMS automatically. So they're sent in one message, rather than separated 2-3 messages.
