I have a T-Mobile "myTouch 3g" which I believe is the HTC magic, if not mistaken. I have no clue where to find the most current information...I know this is a very exhausted topic and most of you could care less, but if you guys could help a lady out, it would be greatly appreciated 
I found the root guide and Cyanogen page on Wikipedia, but have no clue if that info is still reliable and would be in a rather tight spot if I brick my phone. I've also read that Cyanogen isn't being kept up with anymore? I also mulled around a lot on xda(directed there through links from here and google) but on the odd chance that I actually got to a valid page, the download links were very shabby/non-existant. I've hit a major wall here and I haven't even started. KEEP IN MIND, I've been looking through root forums and reading up on it for weeks now. I'm pretty sure I'm ready for this, as soon as I can get started at least.
