Root [T-Mobile] Question about root after phone been unlocked

Hi, my galaxy s3 already unlocked by a local store guy. so I can use any carrier.

My question is, if I go ahead root my galaxh S3 now, will my phone's unlocked status be removed? and become locked again after I root my phone?

Once a phone is Sim Unlocked it will remain Sim Unlocked, no matter if rooted and using a different rom. As far a using any carrier it would depend on if it is a CDMA (no Sim Card)or GSM phone (with a Sim Card) or a World phone like Verizon.
