T-Mobile S3 - What is this Icon?

A couple of days ago a new icon started showing in the Notification Bar at the far left corner of my S3, and I have no idea what it is. The icon is a key with a T-Mobile symbol attached to it. I've looked on-line, but no luck finding out anything. I've been changing some settings recently, but so far can't figure out what the icon is or what caused it. If it matters, I'm running 4.1.2 still. Anyone know what it is?

Thanks. Is it supposed to be in the Notification Bar always, or does it go away, and if so, when and how? I've used the T-Mobile My account App recently, so that must have triggered it. Don't know why it's there when I'm not using the app. Any ideas?

Yes u may can disable the shown in status bar from the app settings if not just clear the apk data and it will disappear

To kill the icon from the status bar
Open the My Account app.

Bring up the menu by tapping the ellipsis (...) at the bottom right part of the screen.

Tap About.

Turn off T-Mobile Notifications.

Turn off Tile Updates

This app will also tell you if your phone is rooted or not. Please confirm.

That's why some people do not install this bc Tmo might use it to know if you are bad boy or gal.

There are 2 different apps. I use one of them and my phone is rooted but it's an unlocked AT&T Gnote 2 and I am on the ppd plan. Nobody has ever said anything to me.

After checking the play store, it looks like I am using the old one but this one works better than the "new" one.

No, I'm not rooted. This app was already installed on the phone when I bought it at Walmart. It's the pre-paid model, using the $30 plan. I checked in Application Manager, and there is no option to un-install the app even if I wanted to, so I'm not going to worry about it. It seems likely that the recent update for this app probably caused the icon to appear.
