T-Mobile service in DC area

I'm thinking about switching from Sprint to T-Mobile once the HTC One drops. I live in Washington DC (in the actual district) and work freelance all around the area. What are people's experience with call and data service on T-Mobile around here? I don't need amazing consistent 4G, by the way; as long as it's at least as good as Sprint's here-and-there 4G coverage and generally sufficient 3G, that's fine. Thanks!

Hello tuz. Check this:

Check coverage maps and compare carriers for Washington D.C. | RootMetrics

Click the dropdown menu for T-Mobile's coverage map to appear.

Coverage is decent throughout the Balt DC corridor. You will most likely always have "coverage" however there may be certain buildings where signal strength may suffer...depending on what phone you have.

FWIW, my Samsung Note 2 had a consistently weaker signal, by 5 to 7dBm than the HTC One X, on AT&T, while inside the At&t store. This where the One X was acheiving a stable -55dBM signal. Similar results seen on T-Mobile Network, when compared to my Motorola Defy (I have accounts on both). So the "network" is sometimes only as strong as the phone used. A 5-7dBm difference can sometimes determine if a call will complete, when in a marginal signal area.
