I might have a solution for you, I was having the same problem and I couldn't find a screen recorder app that worked and I got tired of waiting for the update, so I rooted my tab installed philz touch and flashes a Android 4.4.2 CM11 build and I'm gonna tell ya I couldn't be more happy, the laggs gone and there's a app in the play store SCR screen recorder that now works perfectly on my device, being a fellow gamer I have to say I feel your pain the 4.2.2 and the stock kernel that's comes pre loaded just don't cut if for a proper gaming experience, its not official build and its not my work but the guys that put it together are very knowledgeable pm me if u want me to send u some links, all I ask is you drop by and thank them and give the proper credit for the build, just let me know
